Eco-Conscious Materials
Our cards are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled handmade paper, and paired with kraft envelopes made with 100% recycled paper. The stickers for our card boxed sets are also made from 100% recycled materials.
The paper for our prints is made from straw using wind power and carbon offsets. It contains 30% post-consumer recycled materials and is FSC certified.
Our cards are packed in glassine sleeves (made from FSC certified materials and printed with soy inks) at some retail locations. They can be thrown right into your backyard compost - or reuse them to store garden seeds!
Our prints are packaged with recycled mat board backing and protected in clear, plant-based sleeves that can be recycled or composted at a compost facility. They require high heat for proper breakdown, so are not for backyard compost bins or piles.
Retailers may request no sleeves
Our shipping boxes are all FSC certified. We reuse and repurpose materials and boxes from our supply shipments, including plastic bags and air cushions.
We also repurpose newspaper, magazines and other mail items from our studio and the Eastworks community to use as packing material. We seal our boxes with plant-based cellophane tape and paper tapes with natural rubber adhesive.

Giving Back 10%
Every quarter we donate 10% of our profits to ecological and LGBTQ+ organizations that support the communities and environment that Small Victories depends on.
Certified LGBTBE
Small Victories is certified by the NGLCC as a LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE).
If you represent a corporation and would like to partner with us, we offer branded customization options and bulk ordering discounts.
Endangered & Threatened Species
Our cards and prints feature many plant, animal, and insect species that range from at-risk to threatened to endangered.
Imperfect Seconds
Everyone makes mistakes! Our seed cards "seconds" were printed in odd colors, have some ink smudges, maybe some small holes, or wavy paper. They're good as cards or craft material, and of course they still sprout when planted.
We sell our second quality pronoun badges to reduce waste and to offer our products at a lower price point. These badges may have some scuffing, scratches, or inconsistencies in design.
Sustainability Goals
We are continually evaluating our business and researching ways to operate sustainably for humans and the planet. In the future we strive to:
Switch to plant-based printing inks
Offset our carbon and become 100% carbon neutral
Improve ongoing efforts to reduce our studio waste
