What is washi tape?
Named after a type of strong Japanese paper, washi tape is a little like skinny, colorful masking tape. The adhesive is "low stick," so it stays put without damaging most materials you stick it to (test a small area if you're not sure). You can rip it by hand or cut it with scissors to make a clean edge. After you apply the tape, it's easy to pull it off and reposition it.

Washi tape is not waterproof, so don't use it on anything that needs to be washed or kept outdoors. It's often used for stationery and scrapbooking, but you can use it to customize anything from lamps to gift wrap and phone cases.
